21 December, 2023: UAESBC President, Dr Brian Shegar, was interviewed LIVE on Asharq Business News with Bloomberg (ABN) in their 'Morning News with Cyba' segment today.ABN Senior News Anchor, Ms Cyba Audi, posed questions to Dr Shegar surrounding the 2024 outlook for trade and investments between the UAE and Singapore as well as his perspective on plans to facilitate trade and strengthen business relationships between the two countries. In his reply, Dr Shegar mentioned Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong's recent official visit to the UAE in October, where PM Lee and UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan signed several agreements and MOUs.
Dr Shegar also shared UAESBC's role in promoting bilateral trade and business by conducting various activities including our sectorial-based business delegations comprising Singapore SMEs and startups from agritech, foodtech, fintech, sustainability/renewables, etc.
He also shared other events organised by the Council including sectorial-based workshops, seminars and talks held in Singapore to continue discussions and interest in the region.Hosted in Arabic, Asharq Business News focuses on regional and global economics, and was launched in 2020 in a collaboration between Bloomberg News and the Saudi Research and Marketing Group (SRMG).
