The UAE Singapore Business Council was honoured to host Mr Larry Ng, Prize Secretary for the LKY World Prize and Registrar for Singapore Board of Architects yesterday, 22nd June 2022, for a talk entitled “Singapore: Becoming a City in Nature". Mr Ng's presentation included very interesting facts and information about Singapore's urban redevelopment projects including the Land Use Planning and Green Plan 2030. Mr Ng also shared in detail the amazing initiatives and solutions that were implemented in the building of the Singapore Pavilion including a video walk-through of the Pavilion which clinched the Gold Award for Architecture and Landscape.
The tea-time talk was attended by about 30 attendees and was held at the iconic Singapore Cricket Club. In addition to the sumptuous mini-buffet spread, the attendees were able to mingle and interact between themselves in the midst of the colonial architecture of the exclusive club. This was the first quarterly talk organised in-person by the UAESBC after more than one and a half years of conducting it via Zoom.
During the event UAESBC Treasurer, Mr Musdalifa Abdullah, gave the welcome remarks and introduced our featured speaker while our Vice President, Mr Lee Soon Kiat, presented our token of appreciation to Mr Ng. As part of the tradition of the UAESBC Quarterly Talk, all participants of the talk took a group photo at the main entrance staircase of the landmark building.
